Workout Routines Truckers Can Complete In 30 Minutes!

Exercising is one of the most important things you can do for your body, next to eating healthy.  There are so many great benefits to working out on a regular basis.  Truck drivers are on the road for varying lengths of time; sometimes days, sometimes weeks, sometimes months, and it can be difficult to keep up with a workout routine.  Of course, the long hours sitting and driving can have negative effects on your body, so attempting to get into a workout routine at least a few times a week can be life changing!

Some of the benefits of regularly exercising include  increased energy, improved mood, improved stamina, weight control, better sleep, and more!  You have to be disciplined, and you have to be willing to make it a priority.  The best part is, you do not need a gym membership to get your workout done!  There are numerous workout routines that truckers can complete in 30 minutes, but here are two of the most beneficial.

1. Plyometric and Cardio Training

Plyometric training is an effective workout routine that can be completed in less than 30 minutes.  Plyometric training, also called jump training, is the use of explosive jumping movements.  This is one of the best high-intensity workouts that you can do for your body.  When doing this workout, your moves need to be sharp and quick.  Cardio is great for building endurance and strength.  Not only is it beneficial to your overall health, but it is a workout that can be completed when you have just a short window of time to get a workout in.  Park your truck and go for a run, or keep a jump rope in the cab of your truck.  You can get your heart pumping with a 30-minute jump rope session.

2. Circuit Training

Circuit training is the best workout routine you can do in a short amount of time.  You can do bodyweight exercises, or you can include free weights and a jump rope.  Circuit training, also known as resistance training, will help you to burn calories and give you a full body workout in a short amount of time.  The best part is that because of the minimal rest periods, you will be getting in some cardio at the same time.  Circuit training is one of the most beneficial workout routines you can do.  You will be able to achieve maximum results in no time.  It is challenging to your entire body since it is a mix of cardio and strength training, but it will boost your metabolism and stamina.

If you want to get a full body workout in 30 minutes, you can do upper body exercises, lower body exercises, core exercises, and cardio intervals.  If you want to focus on a specific muscle group, you can do 30 minutes of upper body circuit training one day, 30 minutes of lower body circuit training the next, and 30 minutes of core circuit training the time after that.  You can combine the exercises however you wish.  By switching up your 30-minute routine, you will keep yourself from hitting a workout plateau.  When creating your circuit training routine, make sure that you have two circuits each with four exercises.  You create how many reps you want to do of each of the four exercises.  You have 7 minutes to complete the first circuit, and then take a 30-90 second break, 7 minutes to complete the 2nd circuit, another 30-90 second break, and then repeat the two circuits one more time.
