Positive Attitude and Positive Thoughts = Muscle!

A positive attitude is absolutely critical in muscle building.  It is crucial that you think positively.  It was Charles Reade who said, “sow a thought, and you reap and act; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny”.  Therefore, thoughts are extremely powerful.

Building lean muscle requires patience.  You have to be consistent in your workouts and eat properly.  The realistic amount of lean muscle you can expect to gain in a single week is between 1-2 pounds, unless you are a beginner, in which case a gain of 5 pounds of lean muscle per week is not unrealistic.  However, eventually your gains will be about 1 pound of lean muscle per week save for growth spurts, or if you unwisely decide to use steroids.

Consequently, many persons become discouraged when they do not immediately see the changes that they desire.  It does not matter if you have the greatest trainer in the world, or the best information or programme, unless you are willing to put out the time and effort.   Building muscle takes a lot of dedication and perseverance.  You need to believe in yourself and set realistic targets.

Thus, attitude is fundamental to the success of a muscle building programme.  Do not take the subconscious for granted.  Sometimes we do things that we do not even realize.  Habits are the direct result of our thought processes, so think to build muscle.  Make it a habit!
