Health Tips for Men!

photo dumbbell_zps27c7b078.jpgYears before Michael Jackson’s death graced the headlines, news of his obsession over immortality went viral.  It has been reported that Michael Jackson or MJ spent a great deal of his fortune sponsoring research on immortality.  Apparently, MJ was so afraid of dying that he didn’t mind the excessive outflow of cash to this venture.  Who could blame him?  Anyone would give anything to live a longer life but unfortunately, his quest for immortality didn’t work out all that well because as we all know, MJ died.  This goes to show that immortality is a mere fantasy and in reality all we can really do is to hope that we be given the chance to live a longer and a more productive life here on earth.

Just like MJ, many of us fear death.  It is perfectly logical for people to feel a sense of fear towards it. Death is inevitable, however, we can put it on the back burner if we make an effort to consciously take care of our health.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the top cause of death among adults particularly men, are chronic lower respiratory disease, stroke, heart disease and cancer.  Men who die from these conditions usually have failed to adapt to a healthy lifestyle (and probably MJ did too).  This brings me to question; do you know what a healthy lifestyle is like?  Men probably have no clue that what they’re doing is wrong.  Let me tell you this, if you continue living an unhealthy lifestyle then it might be long before your friends come over to hear your eulogy.

If you want to live to see your kids marry, I suggest that you take note of the following tips I am about to share with you.  You should take these simple day-to-day activities seriously if you want to lengthen your life expectancy.

Since I know most men aren’t huge fans of lengthy articles, I want to keep this brief yet concise.

  1. Quit the nasty habit of smoking.  Even cigarette advertisements are blunt about the dangers of smoking.  Every year over four hundred thousand Americans die of smoking.  Save your lungs and find healthier options for your oral fixation.
  2. Manage your weight.  As much as possible strive to maintain a normal weight.  Obesity has been linked to numerous deadly conditions like stroke and diabetes.  In addition, reports show that roughly three hundred and fifty thousand die of obesity-related diseases each year.  You can manage your weight by watching what you eat and by exercising at least three times a week.
  3. If you can’t stop yourself from drinking then at least drink in moderation.  Moderate drinking (1 to 2 bottles per day) can indeed lower your risk of coronary artery disease.  Don’t rejoice just yet because if you binge on alcohol you’re opening yourself up to the possibility of getting diabetes, obesity, high blood cholesterol, hypertension and osteoporosis.
  4. Take colonoscopy and prostate serum antigen tests regularly or according to your doctor’s recommendation.  This is one way of preventing cancer through early detection.
  5. Check your cholesterol levels regularly as well as your blood pressure.

You can take control over your life by the little decisions you make every day.  No matter what mood you’re in or what you’re feeling, always take the time to check on your health.  With these five easy to follow tips I’m pretty certain that you’ll live long enough to see your grandchildren and if you get lucky you might even take pictures with your great grandchildren.  For men who are concerned about their sexual health, I suggest you read about Tongkat Ali Extract.  Tongkat Ali Extract is a herbal supplement designed for both men and women but it has more sexual health benefits for men.  Tongkat Ali Extract is made from all natural ingredients that can help fight erectile dysfunction, improve libido, and can increase your energy for everyday work.  It has also been proven safe and effective by over millions of men all over the world.  In a nutshell, make your health your top most priority above anything else.
