Get Your Pre Workout Routine Right!

If you want to lose weight, your calorie intake should be less than the energy that you expend during a work out to ensure that you use stored fat in your body as the energy source.  If you want to build muscle, you must consume calories that are in excess of the energy that you will burn during your work out.  If you would like to combine the two so that you lose fat and build muscle, your calorie intake should be more pre-workout but it should only be healthy foods that will not turn into more fat but rather be converted into muscle.

Workout supplements are great to get the nutrition that you need.  If you don’t have time to prepare and eat whole meals before you workout, or do not like the feeling of having a full stomach, pre workout supplements may work best for you.  They often contain ingredients like protein, amino acids, creatine, caffeine and others.  These ingredients will provide your body with the energy it needs, improve blood flow, and take you closer to your fitness goals.

It is important that you know what supplements to take before the workout to reap the most benefits.  For example, arginine and glutamine which are amino acids increase blood flow so that your muscles get more nutrition; creatine and glutamine provide you with plenty of energy during workouts so you can do more.  These ingredients also help the muscles grow.
