Taylor Lautner had to put on 30 pounds of lean muscle for the filming of the New Moon Saga to play the role of Jacob Black, a werewolf. According to Lautner going to the gym was easy but it was the eating part that was hard.
Lautner said he had to eat every two hours. He didn’t have a field day at fast food restaurants! No way! He was strictly prohibited from all junk food by his personal tranier and ordered to have only lean meat and vegetables. He had lots of protein shakes. His trainer would wake him up in the wee hours of the morning to have him guzzle down many a a protein shake.
The Importance of Rest
Lautner said he trained every day but he realized that he was overtraining because he would lose the weight he gained so he cut back to 4-5 days a week thus giving his body the chance to recover from his workouts so that he could pack on muscle. He did lots of compound and body weight exercises.
The Importance of the Mind
